Photo of Dr. Alexandra BurgarAlexandra M. Burgar, M.D.

In her practice at Tri-Valley Orthopedic Specialists, Dr. Burgar treats conditions affecting the bones, muscles, nerves, and tendons of the hand, wrist, and arm up to and including the elbow. She performs arthroscopy and microvascular surgery for a wide range of problems, including fracture care, congenital disorders in infants, carpal tunnel problems in adults, and sports-related injuries for all ages.

Alexandra graduated from the University of Notre Dame and attended graduate school at Cleveland State University. She received her doctorate and performed her general surgery internship and residency in orthopedics at the Medical College of Ohio. Fellowship training in hand and microvascular surgery was done at the Philadelphia Hand Center.

Dr. Burgar's interest in orthopedic surgery arose from exposure through her family to the fields of engineering, carpentry, biological sciences, and fashion and art design. She is stimulated by the broad spectrum of injuries and problems, diverse range of patients, and multiple treatment options in a highly specialized field. Outside her orthopedics specialty and sub-specialties, Alexandra's interests include photography, gardening, sewing, watching movies, running, and attending sporting events.
